Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them each time you visit.
We also use localStorage — browser storage similar in purpose to cookies but not transmitted with every HTTP request. It is used to keep you logged in and to temporarily store session data between pages.
